Step 1 — Earn Your Certificate of Completion

To qualify for your Certificate of Completion, you must:

Complete the Associate Training (First Course)
Finish all required modules and required lessons inside the program.

Complete all assessments + assignments
This includes a 50-question quiz, workbook activities, and course-related assignments.

Write a 1,000-word reflective essay
Write a thoughtful essay based on what you learned in training. Your essay should reflect your growth, your understanding of newborn care standards, and how you plan to apply your training professionally.

Experience Requirement:

Complete 1200 hours as a Newborn Care Specialist, OR

Provide proof of 1 year of newborn care specialist experience

How hours are counted:
You may count
12-hour overnight shifts toward your 1200-hour requirement.

Proof of Experience (Examples)

You can submit one or more of the following:

Work logs with dates/times (preferred)

Client verification letters (with identifying info removed if needed)

Pay stubs or invoices showing shift dates/hours

Agency verification letter confirming hours and role

Employment verification showing 1 year of experience

Your essay must include

  • Key skills you learned (practical + professional)

    • How your understanding of newborn care has evolved

    • Your approach to safe sleep and newborn wellness

    • How you plan to communicate with parents and work within scope

    • What professionalism means in the newborn care field

    1. Read five books listed in the Associate Program introduction video
      After reading, submit
      one paragraph about each book. Your paragraphs should highlight:

    • The main takeaway

    • One strategy/tool you plan to use in your work

    • Why the book matters for newborn care professionals

    1. Notify the NewbornIQ Team that you’ve completed the course
      When everything above is complete, email the team to request review and processing of your completion certificate:

    In your email, include:

    • Your full name

    • The course name

    • The date you completed the final module

    • Attached essay + book paragraphs (or indicate where they were submitted)

    • Any additional required documentation (below)

Additional Documentation Required

To support professional readiness and client trust, NewbornIQ requires the following documentation on file:

Background Check

Provide proof of a completed background check. (A clear PDF or screenshot is acceptable as long as your name and completion date are visible.)

CPR Certification

  • You must be CPR Certified to work professionally with families. Provide a copy of your current CPR card/certificate showing:

    • Your name

    • Expiration date

    • Issuing organization

      Note: CPR certification must be current (not expired) at the time your certificate is issued.
