NewbornIQ Live Training Tour 2026-2027: In-Person NCS Training Across the U.S.
NewbornIQ is taking its Newborn Care Specialist course on the road. The Live Training Tour brings the same 30-hour, hands-on NCS curriculum you'd complete online directly to cities across the country, with small class sizes that keep the focus on real practice and real answers.
Each stop is capped at 20 seats, giving students direct access to instruction, live demonstration, and one-on-one feedback that's hard to replicate in a fully online format.
Why In-Person Training Adds Value
Online coursework builds the knowledge base every Newborn Care Specialist needs. In-person training builds the confidence to apply it. Working through real scenarios in the room, alongside an instructor who can correct technique in the moment, helps students walk away ready to step into a family's home with clarity.
For professionals transitioning from another caregiving role, this hands-on format can be especially useful. If you're coming from a nanny background, our guide on making the shift from nanny to Newborn Care Specialist walks through how formal training strengthens that move.
What is Included in the Newborn Care Specialist Training?
The Live Training Tour follows NewbornIQ's full 30-hour curriculum, built around a 440-page workbook. Topics include:
General newborn care and development
Overnight care structure
Sleep shaping fundamentals
Working with multiples
Preemie care
Postpartum care awareness
Coaching parents
Interviews, contracts, and building a caregiving business
Students leave with a physical workbook, bonus materials, and continued access to mentoring after the event ends. Every seat also includes a Certificate of Completion through NewbornIQ, along with a clear next step toward certification through GBNCS, the Global Board of Newborn Care Standards, an independent, third-party credentialing body that verifies training through its own proctored exam.
Early Bird Pricing
Each tour stop opens with early bird pricing at $999, available to the first 5 sign-ups per city. Standard pricing for the same training is $1,299, so registering early secures a meaningful savings along with your seat in a class that's already limited to 20 students.
Because early bird pricing is tied to sign-up order rather than a set date, spots typically go quickly once a city is announced. Reserving early is the most reliable way to lock in the lower rate.
Meet Your Instructor: Summer Hartman
The tour is led by Summer Hartman, a Newborn Care Specialist and postpartum doula with more than 20 years of experience and a background as a certified sleep health consultant.
Summer built the NewbornIQ curriculum over 22 months, designing it specifically around the realities of working with families rather than theory alone. In October 2024, she received an honorary, nonmedical doctorate recognizing her contributions to the newborn care field. Students consistently point to her direct, approachable teaching style as one of the biggest reasons the training holds up once they're working independently.
